1 – Lawyer Specialized in Financial Services

We’re looking for a lawyer specialised in financial services to join our ranks!

Blockchain Advisory is looking for an individual who has ample experience within the financial services industry, and is also open to working in relation to blockchain technology and virtual financial assets. The applicant, apart from dealing with various tasks related to traditional financial services, shall also be exposed to the DLT industry and deal with some of the top companies and entities in the world in the said sector.

Some of the undertaken functions include the following:

Liaison with clients dealing with licensable services under the Virtual Financial Assets Act

– Liaison with clients dealing with licensable services under the Investment Services Act

– Handling applications filed under the Virtual Financial Assets Act

– Handling applications filed under the Investment Services Act

– Preparation of offering memorandums in relation to financial instruments

– Analysing coins/tokens and conducting the Financial Instruments Test in relation thereto

– Regulatory advice to clients or interested third parties 

– Liaison with the regulatory authorities

– Drafting of contracts with, or on behalf, of clients

– General liaison with clients

– Participation in international conferences

The applicant must be ready to work in a very fast-paced environment. Self-motivation is key. Interested candidates must be graduated lawyers with at least five years’ worth of experience as a practising lawyer in relation to financial services.

Variety and novelty of work is one of the benefits for this particular role, as well as direct contact with some of the biggest names in the DLT industry. Preference will be given to those candidates who already have experience in relation to VFAs.

2 – Legal & Regulatory Intern (paid internship)

Blockchain Advisory Limited is seeking to open its doors for ambitious and motivated law students who are interested in joining its paid summer internship programme – giving you the opportunity to gain experience working in an advisory firm specialising in the Blockchain and Virtual Financial Assets industry.

Blockchain Advisory Limited is a Malta-based professional consultancy firm which primarily provides regulatory advice within the ambit of the Maltese DLT and VFA Regulatory Framework. The team, consisting mainly of regulatory, technology and business advisors, have assisted numerous blockchain-based and cryptocurrency-related projects such as token generation events, including STOs, crypto-funds, cryptocurrency exchanges and blockchain-based gambling projects within the Maltese iGaming Regulatory Framework. 

Blockchain Advisory Limited was founded in November of 2017 and is duly authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority to act as a VFA Agent in terms of Article 7 and Article 14 of the Virtual Financial Assets Act. 

Job Description

We are looking to recruit a law student to join our fast-growing team of professionals during the summer recess. This is a dynamic role that requires an energetic individual who is motivated by a challenging working environment. The selected applicant will be detail oriented and have the ability to work well in a team and with all levels of management.

Successful candidates will gain exposure through a broad range of blockchain-based projects and will have the opportunity to develop technical competency within the Financial Services, Blockchain and Virtual Financial Assets industry at a well-regarded and growing organisation.

Responsibilities may include

– Working directly under the supervision of the company’s Board of Directors in a client-focused environment;
– Providing internal legal assistance in servicing the needs of the company’s clients;
– Using a variety of software packages, to produce documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases;
– Carrying out any necessary research as may be required from time to time; and
– Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the direct supervisor/ team leader/ manager.

Required Qualities

– Be in the second or third year of the law course;
– Good standard of written and spoken English;
– Proficient communication skills;
– Ability to work independently;
– Good time management, analytical and organizational skills;
– Desire to learn and develop a career within financial services and virtual financial assets;

3 – Technical (fundamentals) analyst

We are currently looking for an analyst who is experienced in researching blockchain-based projects and cryptocurrencies in general. The candidate should have experience in the area, and be familiar with most technical terms used in relation to such projects, especially those concerning tokenisation, consensus mechanisms, and DLT protocols. The candidate has to be competent in providing abridged, simplified analyses in a presentable format.

Some of the functions include:
– White paper analysis“
– Technical paper analysis
– Tokenomics analysis
– Project SWOT analysis

Experience in systems auditing shall be considered as a bonus.

4 – Compliance officer

We are currently looking for a compliance officer who is experienced in regulatory compliance. The candidate shall be responsible for monitoring and assessing the adequacy and effectives of the measures and procedures put in place as required under the Virtual Financial Act, as well as carrying out fitness and properness tests on relevant persons. The chosen candidate shall also be responsible for carrying out functions which ensure compliance with local and EU legislation pertaining to AML, and shall be supporting the MLRO.

Experience in the blockchain and cryptocurrencies industry shall be considered as a bonus but is not a requirement.

5 – Lawyer

We’re looking for a lawyer to join our ranks as the leading advisory outfit in relation to blockchain, virtual financial assets, and financial instruments!
Blockchain Advisory is looking for an individual who is geared towards learning more about blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies from a legal and technical perspective, ideally with a background in financial services, with other areas of specialization being considered a bonus. The applicant shall benefit from hands-on experience in the sector and deal with some of the top companies and entities in the world in the said sector.

Some of the undertaken functions include the following:
– Analysing coins/tokens and conducting the Financial Instruments Test in relation thereto
– Handling applications as a VFA-registered entity
– Research related to blockchain and cryptocurrencies, particularly the latest trends and news
– Drafting of contracts with, or on behalf, of clients
– General liaison with clients

The applicant needs to have a keen interest in the sector, and ready to work in one of the most fast-paced industries around. Self-motivation is key. Previous experience is not required although it will be taken into consideration. Variety and novelty of work is one of the benefits for this particular role.
